Due to COVID-19, every registered Democrat in Delaware will be mailed an absentee ballot request. The Department of Elections will start mailing these ballot requests in early August. Note: this is not the actual ballot! It is a request form that you must fill out and return so that that Department of Elections will mail you a ballot.

+ How do I register to vote?
You can register online, by mail, or in-person.
+ Can I take my children with me to vote?
Yes. You may take children 17 years old and younger with you when voting.
+ I have a disability. Are there resources to assist me in voting?
All people qualified and desiring to vote must be given the opportunity to do so. Therefore, there will be accessible polling places, accessible voting machines, the opportunity for voting by absentee ballot and assistance at any point as a means of accommodation.
If you need help at the polls election officers are ready to assist. You may also bring someone with you to help in the voting process.
If you are deaf or hard of hearing, all election materials, announcements and forms are available at your state's election website. You may also use the state's free TDD relay service to obtain election and voting information. Simply dial 711 and give the operator the toll free helpline number for the county from which you are calling: New Castle County 800-577-000, Kent County 800-464-4357, Sussex County 800-464-4357, Outside Delaware 800-273-9500.

+ Can I register to vote if I have been convicted of a felony?
Yes. If you have completed your sentence you may register to vote, as long as your conviction was not for a disqualifying felony.
Disqualifying felonies:
Murder or manslaughter, (except vehicular homicide)
Any felony constituting an offense against public administration involving bribery or improper influence or abuse of office, or any like offense under the laws of any state or local jurisdiction, or of the United States, or of the District of Columbia
Any felony constituting a sexual offense, or any like offense under the laws of any state or local jurisdiction or of the United States or of the District of Columbia.

+ Can I register to vote if I don't have a fixed address or am homeless?
Yes. If registering in-person you must provide two pieces of identification containing your name. Additionally, one of the pieces must include the address that you listed on the application. The address can be a shelter, agency or another location where you receive your mail.
+ What are the qualifications to register to vote?
You may register to vote in Delaware if you:
Are a citizen of the United States
Are a resident of Delaware (Delaware is your home)
Will be 18 years old on or before the date of the next General Election
You may not register to vote in Delaware if you:
Have been judged mentally incompetent. Judged mentally incompetent refers to a specific finding in a judicial guardianship or equivalent proceeding, based on clear and convincing evidence that the individual has a severe cognitive impairment which precludes exercise of basic voting judgment
Have not completed your sentence for a felony conviction or have not been pardoned for a felony conviction of murder or manslaughter, (except vehicular homicide); bribery or improper influence or abuse of office; or a felony sexual offense.
+ Where do I vote in person?
On September 15, there will be in-person voting at a limited number of polling places. We will update this list as soon as the Department of Elections releases it. You can find your polling location here.
+ Do I need to show my ID to vote?
You will be asked to show ID at the polls. However, you do not need to show ID in order to vote. If you do not show an ID you must fill out a form before you can vote, but you will still be allowed to cast your ballot.
Acceptable forms of ID include:
