We must ensure protections and a dignified standard of living for ALL people with disabilities, as well as caretakers. Our country must provide: universal healthcare, improved protections against workplace discrimination, fully funded Social Security programs, more accessible education and job training opportunities, and more rigorous ADA enforcement.

Living Wages for All
Expand Social Security, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Social Income (SSI) to a living wage
End all exceptions in wage laws and strengthen workplace protections for individuals with disabilities
Update the ADA and Ensure Compliance
Update the Americans with Disabilities Act with an increased focus on enforcement of ADA compliance
Close Education Disparities for Students with Disabilities
Put supports in place on college campuses to increase accessibility and improve graduation rates for students with disabilities
Make good on the federal commitment to fully funding IDEA & ESSA.
A Comprehensive Medicare for All Plan
Include Long Term Supports & Services, both community and facility based care, in Medicare for All legislation
Fund government programs to pay family caregivers for people with disabilities
Overhaul our nation’s drug policies: ensure opioid pain management protections for those with chronic and debilitating pain, support funding for safe consumption and injection sites, and include alternative treatments to opiates in Medicare for All legislation.
