Climate Change
Climate change is a global emergency. Delaware’s beach towns and low-lying Wilmington neighborhoods are already suffering from the effects of rising sea levels, and our state has some of the most polluted air and water in the country. We must transform our energy system, rebuild our infrastructure to be climate-resilient and carbon-neutral, and make corporations pay for the environmental damage they’ve caused.
Our Vision and Core Policies
A Green New Deal
Enact the Green New Deal and transform our energy system to end the extraction of and dependence on fossil fuels
Eliminate carbon emissions from our transportation system
Rebuild our infrastructure to create green buildings and ensure it can withstand the ramifications of climate change we’re already facing
Provide assistance to states and municipalities that want to create publicly-owned, green utilities providers
Climate Justice
Support climate justice by repairing the disproportionate environmental damage done in Indigenous, Black, and other minority communities
Enact Medicare for All and fully fund community health centers in areas most affected by climate change and corporate pollution
Invest in local, community owned clean power sources that do not poison the surrounding neighborhoods
Hold Corporate Polluters Accountable
Change liability laws so that polluters are held accountable to the people they harm
Prosecute high-level business executives who misled the public about the safety of their products
