Build Labor Power
For the past several decades, the balance of power in workplaces has shifted almost entirely to owners. I’m running on a pro-worker agenda to expand workplace democracy, provide our government with the funds to enforce existing worker protections, and increase workers’ ability to collectively bargain. We need to take power back from corporations and make sure that workers are in control of their own economic future.
Our Vision and Core Policies
Repeal the Taft-Hartley Amendment
End Right to Work at the federal level
Pass card check legislation
Allow a broader range of strike tactics, including secondary boycotts
Allow union representatives to speak to workers at their job sites during lunch breaks and before/after their shifts
Prohibit employers from staging “captive meetings” where they intimidate their employees through anti-union propaganda
Fully Fund and Staff the National Labor Relations Board
Ensure the NLRB has the staff and funding to enforce workplace violations
Expand the NLRB’s jurisdiction into new types of employment
Federal Jobs Guarantee
Create publicly financed jobs for everyone who wants one, with guaranteed living wages, benefits, and safe working conditions
Utilize large-scale public works projects, like repairing and rebuilding our infrastructure through the Green New Deal, to create millions of new jobs
Allow these workers to join unions and give them full collective bargaining rights
Good Wages and Universal Benefits
Raise the minimum wage to a living wage of at least $15 and index to inflation
Create a universal paid family leave program and guarantee sick leave to all workers
